What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm XC is a hyaluronic (HA) acid injectable dermal filler that is FDA-approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).
With Juvéderm XC, facial volume is replenished and wrinkles and folds are smoothed in a very natural-looking way. Results can last up to one year.

How does Juvéderm work?
Juvéderm works by injecting hyaluronic acid, it’s active ingredient, into the neck and facial tissue. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance that is found naturally in the body and is responsible for retaining water to keep the body’s tissues lubricated.
As we age, our bodies slow the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid — the properties that keep our skin supple — which results in the onset of lines, wrinkles and skin sagging. Juvéderm uses the benefits of HA to naturally plump sunken, shallow or sagging areas of the face to restore a more youthful appearance.
During Your Treatment
Juvéderm injections can be administered quickly and easily with zero need for downtime. Known as a “lunchtime treatment,” Juvéderm sessions can be done in as little as 30 minutes, which means you can get in, get out and get back to your normal activities. A consultation will be needed to determine if Juvéderm will produce the results that you desire. Depending on your goals, you may want to combine your Juvéderm injections with other nonsurgical treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic.
What should I expect after receiving Juvéderm?
Recovery and downtime are minimal. For 24 hours after treatment, patients should avoid strenuous activities, alcohol or overexposure to sun or heat.
For patients with volume loss in the cheek area, we also offer Juvéderm Voluma XC. This injectable filler is not used to smooth out wrinkles, but to add volume and structure to the cheeks.
